No single clue proves that media is fake. Combine several checks before believing or sharing it.

What to do

Use these steps as a practical starting point.

01

Check the original source

Find who first published the content, when it appeared and what context was provided.

02

Look and listen carefully

Notice unusual lip movement, voice timing, lighting, edges or facial details.

03

Compare reliable sources

See whether trusted organisations or credible reports confirm the same information.

04

Be careful with urgent requests

A cloned voice or manipulated video may be used to request money, codes or immediate action.

05

Verify through a known channel

Contact the person directly using a number or account you already trust.

Pause before sharing: Who is the source, what is the evidence, and can it be verified elsewhere?

Educational awareness content. It does not replace emergency, legal or specialist security support.
